SWB, with a 3 run outburst in the second inning, and a solid outing by Romulo Sanchez, drew frist blood in the first round of the International League playoffs with a 3-0 win over the Gwinnett Braves. The Yankees scored all the runs they would need in the second on a bases loaded single by Colin Curtis that scored 2 runs. Chris Stewart drove in the other run with a single. A key play in the inning was an error by Gwinnett's catcher, Alvin Colina, on a sac bunt attempt by John Rodriguez that loaded the bases. Romulo Sanchez and the Yankee bullpen made the runs hold up with a combined shutout effort. Sanchez line: 5.0 5 0 0 3 9. Zach Kroenke (2 innings) and Anthony Claggett (2 innings) put the finishing touches on the shutout. Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Gwinnett, and then the best of five series returns here on Friday. So far, so good!
