Recap from Scranton

So far, my party is more exciting than this game. So far, the only scoring was on a Paul Hoover RBI double in the 4th. It’s 1-0 Pigs.

Scranton update

First, a correction. Tonight’s starting pitcher was Romulo Sanchez, not Kei Igawa as listed. Kei is sitting with us again tonight. Zack Kroenke is in in the 6th. In the top of the 6th a pass ball came back to haunt SWB. After Terry Tiffee singled, he went to 2nd on the pass ball, moved to third on a gorundout, and scored on Paul Hoover’s sac fly to make it 2-0. In the 7th, a throwing error by Kevin Russo set up a two run inning for the Pigs. Terry Tiffee and John Mayberry had RBI singles. 4-0 Pigs. This has been a sloppy game for SWB.

Final Pigs 4, SWB 0

Sloppy play did SWB in tonight, as the pass ball and throwing error opened all the scoring for the Pigs. Damaso Marte got in the game, and pitched a scoreless inning as did Kevin Whelan. The Yanks are on the road after tonight and return on the 18th against these same Iron Pigs.

A correction to Nova's line...Kroenke allowed both inherited runners to score so Nova is charged with both. A double steal and singe by Desmond Jennings tied the game in the top of the 8th.
