Towers vs Sonnanstine

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod It’s finally a warm summer night here in Scranton and there are no puddles in the outfield. Tonight’s lineup:

  1. Kevin Russo 2B

  2. Ramiro Pena SS

  3. Austin Jackson CF

  4. Shelley Duncan RF

  5. Juan Miranda 1B

  6. Yurendell de Caster 3B

  7. John Rodriguez DH

  8. Colin Curtis LF

  9. Chris Stewart C

Durham 1, SWB 0

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod Chris Richard singled, moved to third on Rhyne Hughes double, and scored on John Jaso’s groundouts. Durham 1, SWB 0. Sonnanstine looks good so far.

Durham 2, SWB 0

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod Elliott Johnson hit a long home run over the billboard in right field and it’s Durham 2, SWB 0.

Sonnanstine cruising along

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod No runs on 3 hits. So fat the Yanks have not been able to figure him out. Still 2-0 Durham.

Nice assist by Shelley

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod Elliott Johnson tried to tag and go from 1st to 2nd on a long fly ball to right. Shelley caught the ball with his back to the wall, uncorked a perfect throw, and nailed Johnson sliding into second!

Sonnanstine caves, Marte in

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod Back to back doubles by Miranda and de Caster and an RBI single by Colin Curtis and we are tied at 2. Marte is on in relief.

Take Marte, PLEASE!!!!!

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod Marte just gave up two bombs to Elliott Johnson and Matt Joyce and Durham leads 4-2. Even the outs were hit hard and long. He is not fooling anyone with his stuff. Gene Michael is here and I think he just threw up.

Final in Scranton, Durham 4, SWB 2

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Zod It was a clean sweep for the Rays tonight!

A correction to Nova's line...Kroenke allowed both inherited runners to score so Nova is charged with both. A double steal and singe by Desmond Jennings tied the game in the top of the 8th.
