Home Cookin’

Posted on 15 June 2009 by Zod Finally, the SWB Yankees are back home for the longest home stand of the season. Tonight, Josh “The Leaning” Towers (1-4, 5.35) goes against the Toledo Mud Hen’s Lucas “Viva La” French (4-3, 3.53). It’s good to be back at the park! The lineup: Kevin Russo, 2B Austin Jackson, CF Shelley Duncan, RF Juan Miranda, 1B Justin Leone, 3B Eric Duncan, LF Chris Stewart, DH Kevin Cash, C Doug Bernier, SS

Wasted opportunity

Posted on 15 June 2009 by Zod SWB wasted a 2nd & 3rd, no one out opportunity in the 1st. After Kevin Russo walked and Austin Jackson doubled, Lucas French struck out the side. No score through 2.

Another wasted opportunity

Posted on 15 June 2009 by Zod Again Russo and Jackson get back to back singles in the third with one out but the Yankees fail to score. Part of the reason was Shelley Duncan fouling off a pitch with a double steal on. Russo and Ajax had the bags stolen. Either Duncan missed the sign or it was a very scary hit and run!

SWB on the board on the 4th.

Posted on 15 June 2009 by Zod Chris Stewart doubled with Eric Duncan aboard. SWB 1, Mud Hens 0.

SWB wins 1-0

Posted on 15 June 2009 by Zod Well, other than a rain delay, nothing much happened after the 4th. The run the Yanks got in that frame held up and the final is SWB 1, Mud Hens 0. Josh Towers gets the win with a real gem (6.0 2 0 0 3 5). Claggett gave two scoreless innings and Jonathan Albaladejo got the save. Oh, and Ajax was 3-4 with a double upping his BA to .345.
