The bad news we know: 44.1 scoreless innings. The good news is that Shelley Duncan, John Rodriguez, and Reggie Corona are back in the lineup: Reggie Corona 2B Austin Jackson CF Todd Linden RF Shelley Duncan DH Juan Miranda 1B John Rodriguez LF Chris Stewart C Justin Leone 3B Doug Bernier, SS George Kontos will pitch the first game, Kei Igawa will be on the mound for the nightcap. It is 73 and sunny for the 5:30 PM start. My updates will be more sporadic tonight because I am dining at the new restaurant here at PNC Field. It used to be the “Stadium Club” but now it has been taken over by the Yankees and is called “Legends” Why does everything have to be named “Legends”????? There seems to be a creativity gap in the Yankee front office.

The scoreless streak is over after 45 innings. Shelley Duncan doubled driving in Austin Jackson with 2 outs in the bottom of the 1st. SWB 1, Charlotte 0.

SWB wins, Kontos, Melancon shine

Well, 1 run was all they needed to break both the scoreless streak and the losing streak. Kontos went 5.1and struck out 6. Melancon got the save in 1.2 innings of relief in a shortened 7 inning game. SWB 1, Charlotte 0. Now, I must continue my sampling of “Legends Hospitality”.
