Better late than never

I just got to my seat after dinner at the Stadium Club. In the 1st, Nolan Reimold hit a 3 run shot in the top of the inning to give the Tides a 3-0 lead. SWB got 1 back in the bottom of the frame on an RBI double by Shelley Duncan. That’s where we stand,SWB 1, Tides 3. Oh, and no Wi-Fi here tonight for some reason, so the connection is slow.

End of the 3rd

The Tides added a run in the top of the 3rd on an error by Eric Duncan. SWB did not score in the bottom of the inning. SWB 1, Tides 4.

The pitching matchups tonight…

…for SWB Jason Stephens vs. Chris Tillman…

Stephenson knocked around in the 4th

Scott Moore’s 3 run homer capped a 4 run 4 th for the Tides. Zach Kroenke came in with 2 outs and made things interesting by loading the based, but escaped further damage by getting Jobert Cabrera to ground out to 2nd. SWB 1, Tides 8. Not a good night for Yankee pitching.

SWB’ get 2 back

In the 4th on a Chris Malec double.   SWB’ 3, Tides 8. It’s gonna be a long night…

Pulled out of tonight’s SWB game, replaced by Carlos Mendoza. Did something happen up there?

A lot to update!

Between the loss of WiFi here at the stadium and all the action, I am having a hard time keeping up! Her is where we are so far: In the top of the 6th Oscar Salazar homered to make it 9-3 Tides. Then in the wild bottom of the 6th inning Shelley doubled, reached third on a groundout, and scored on a throwing error. Then with Ajax on 2nd, Malec singled scoring Jackson, then Malec scored on a P.J.Pilittere single. 9-6 Tides. Then, top 7th, an error by Chris Malec, triple by Mike Costanzo and three singes got 3 runs back for the Tides. SWB 6, Norfolk 12 after 6 1/2.

It over in Scranton, SWB Loses 14-7

Scranton added a run in the 7th on a Carlos Mendoza double, and Norfolk added 2 in the 9th on a Scott Moore homer to give us the final score, SWB 7, Norfolk 14. Jason Stephenson was not as bad as things looked, since the Yankees played horrible defense tonight and only 4 of the 8 runs he gave up were earned. All in all, not a bad start for a kid from Tampa. Zach Kroenke settled down after his rough start, and J.B. Cox and Eric Wordkemper ended the misery for the Yankees. Game Notes: Shelley Duncan had his 12th multi-hit game tonight Todd Linden extended his historic hitting streak to 16 games with a single in the 9th I will not be at the game tomorrow due to family obligations. See you Sunday. Game StoryRecapBox

A correction to Nova's line...Kroenke allowed both inherited runners to score so Nova is charged with both. A double steal and singe by Desmond Jennings tied the game in the top of the 8th.
