The Tides come in

Posted on 30 April 2009 by Zod

Tonight the Norfolk Tides will feast on pitches thrown by Kei Igawa. He will face David Hernandez, It is cold (56), windy, and there are showers in the forecast, so another miserable night in the stands in Minooka. As I wrote that, I was pelted with a few big raindrops. I will stick it out as long as I can, with the help of hot chocolate. Tonight’s lineup: Luis Nunez, SS John Rodriguez, DH Todd Linden, CF Shelley Duncan, RF Juan Miranda, 1B Austin Jackson, LF Eric Duncan, 3B Chris Malec, 2B P.J. Pilittere, C Game Note: Justin Christian will be in right field for the Tides tonight.

End of wild 7th, SWB 12, Tides 6

Well it was a wild 7th. After Shelley’s home run, back to back walks to Miranda and Ajax set up a weird play. Eric Duncan squibbed a ground ball that went under the pitcher’s glove, the 1st baseman’s glove, and the 2nd baseman’s glove, while Miranda rounded 3rd and scored. Then a single by Malec scored Ajax & a single Pilittere and a throwing error by Justin Turner scored, Duncan and Malec and it’s 12-6 SWB.

It’s over in Scranton, SWB wins 12-6

A great backhanded, sliding catch by Shelley Duncan was the dramatic 3rd out in the 9th, and SWB goes to 17-3 for the season. Game StoryRecapBox
