Alfredo Aceves vs. Justin Lehr

Posted on 29 April 2009 by Zod

It is much colder tonight (by 20 degrees) so it’s back to parkas and hot chocolate. Tonight, Alfredo Aceves will take his 5.74 ERA against the Iron Pig’s best, Justin Lehr (3-0, 2.60 ERA). For the Swine, he is no flu(k). Sorry. John Sterling made me say that! Tonights SWB Yankee lineup: Luis Nunez 2B John Rodriguez DH Todd Linden LF Shelley Duncan RF Juan Miranda 1B Austin Jackson CF Eric Duncan 3B Doug Bernier SS P.J.Pilittere C

In the 4th, Jason Donald singled and reached 3rd when Mike Cervenak’s single was mishandled by Shelley Duncan. But Aceves got out of the inning without allowing a run with 2 strikeouts and a popup. Still 4-0 SWB.

A J-BOMB FROM J-ROD!

A 3 run shot with Pilittere & Ninez aboard in the bottom of the 4th! SWB’ leads 7-0.

Aceves shuts out Pigs, 7-0

Posted on 29 April 2009 by Zod

Well, nothing much happened after the 4th inning. Alfredo Aceves was just great tonight throwing 8 full innings of shutout baseball. His final line: 8.0 3 0 0 1 6. Steven Jackson made things interesting in the 9th when he loaded the bases with nobody out. But a pop-up, K, and a groundout closed it out. SWB wins, 7-0. They are now 16-3 on the season.
