We ate the champions!

Posted on 17 April 2009 by Zod

Well it is a very festive mood here in Scranton tonight. There will be a pennant raising, ring ceremony, and Roy White will throw out the first pitch. Phil Hughes is on the mound with a start time of 7:05. I will be posting updates of opening night here in Scranton, and maybe a photo or two.

No runs, 3 hits, and 5 strikeouts. His fastball has not topped 92, he seems to have a good curve and slider tonight. SWB leads 3-0.

Barroa-BINO AGAIN!!!

Posted on 17 April 2009 by Zod

Angel Berroa just blasted his second homer of the night, a two run shot, capping a 6 run 8th. SWB is pouring it on, 11-0!

Wrapping thing up here in Scranton, the SWB Yanks won tonight 11-0 to boost their record to a franchise history 9-0. They have never started better than 4-0 in 21 years. Angel Berroa had 4 hits and 5 RBI, with 2 homers. Phil Hughes, Steven Jackson, and Brett Tomko combined for an 8 hit shutout, the first of the year. Hughes was good tonight with a good mix of curves, sliders, and fastballs, but never topped 92 on the radar gun. Tomorrow, the weak link, Kei “Iggie Pop” Igawa starts for SWB.
