Garret Anderson hired Scott Boras.  After originally deciding to represent himself, Anderson wised up and hired Boras.  Why?

Those are Anderson's career numbers.  Last year, when somehow the Angels paid him $12.6 million?

Anderson needs Boras because a 36 year old left-handed outfielder isn't going to get anywhere near $12.6 million for those numbers representing himself.  He needs Boras and one of his Big Books of BS to get more years and more money. The most you can expect from Anderson at this stage is a league average hitter.  And at the right price (re: not $10 million) he could be servicable. Hiring Boras as his agent tells you Anderson thinks he deserves more.

It's negotiating time. Will Derek Jeter insist on being the superstar or has Father Time talked some sense to the Captain?
